Transforming Lives: Thomasville Pediatrics’ Mission Work in Nicaragua

At Thomasville Pediatrics, our commitment to making a difference extends far beyond the borders of our local communities. Since 2007, we have proudly supported the inspiring work of La Luz de Cristo Ministries, INC, a non-profit mission organization co-founded by our very own Dr. Bea Juncadella. Together, we have been dedicated to providing hope, healing, and opportunities to the impoverished community of Empalme de Boaco, Nicaragua.

One of the cornerstones of our mission is the clinic we’ve built and continue to support in Empalme de Boaco. This clinic operates five days a week, offering free medical care and essential medications to those in need. We believe that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, and through this clinic, we aim to improve the health and well-being of the local population.

But our mission work doesn’t stop there. We understand the importance of education in breaking the cycle of poverty, which is why we provide scholarships to deserving students, enabling them to pursue higher education and reach for their dreams. Our commitment to education also extends to our community library and reading program, promoting literacy and knowledge-sharing among the youth.

Empowering the youth in our community is another vital aspect of our mission. We offer leadership skills training and programs to keep them engaged and off the streets, fostering personal growth and resilience. Additionally, we support women entrepreneurs by providing small loans, enabling them to start or expand their businesses and create better lives for their families.

Our mission work in Nicaragua also encompasses the support of five churches, bringing communities together and strengthening their faith. At the heart of everything we do is our desire to share God’s love in tangible ways, creating a positive impact on the lives of the people we serve.

Over the years, Dr. Bea Juncadella has led over 30 mission teams to Nicaragua, embodying our commitment to making a lasting difference. These missions have not only provided essential medical care but have also built lasting relationships, creating a sense of hope and unity that transcends borders.

As we continue this incredible journey of transformation in Nicaragua, we are reminded that every act of kindness, every scholarship granted, and every medical consultation has the power to change lives. Join us in celebrating the impact of our mission work and the boundless potential it unlocks for those in need. Together, we can make a brighter and healthier future for the people of Empalme de Boaco, Nicaragua.
